All true artists, whether they know it or not, create from a place of no-mind, from inner stillness.
::: Eckhart Tolle :::

My story:
Profesionally, I started designing in 1999. I have always been interested in arts, even before college, and after I graduated, I decided that I really want a career in the arts department even though my course wasn’t in any way related to it. So what I did is I self-studied Photoshop and HTML, that time internet was just starting to boom and I got really interested in making web pages. After gearing myself, I searched online for a job opening and found one near my home and I was really excited when they accepted me as a web designer. I really loved that job because our office was so informal, our schedule was very flexible, I could go to work any time and go home any time too. And I really learned aLOT from those guys! In 2002, I shifted from designing web pages to desktop publishing and got a job at a publication.

In 2004, I had to leave my job because the company wasn’t paying me on time and the management betrayed me. It was a good thing too because I was already stressed needed a long break and I had to stay home too to take care of my niece. My niece celebrated her first birthday and I made her a photobook. Then the party decorator saw it and suggested she offer my services to her clients. It was a really nice idea and it made me decide to go freelance.

With regards to digital scrapbooking, in 2006, my friend Liz got me hooked with Neopets and I would stalk her blog partly because of this. One day, I saw one of her scrapbook page and I found out about digital scrapbooking, she eventually got me hooked too. And I’ve been addicted to this hobby since then. Thanks Liz! :)

1. Copy the graphics designed by Cathy and then tell us your story about how you came to start designing. It doesn’t matter if it’s “for your eyes only” or you are designing for somebody.
2. Come back here and leave your link where you posted the story. I will add your blogs to the master list. If you have more than 1 blog you need to post the tag to your other blogs as well.
3. Pass it to people you know who makes beautiful crafts.
4. Make sure that you come back here to get the updated list of bloggers who joined the tag. This is a good way to increase our rankings on Technorati at the same time we get to read great stories.
